Autism, Obamacare and the love of ranting..

#Autism, Obamacare and the love of ranting..

So often the health issues can pile up as stress and anxiety is the worse condition you can have, in my opinion. There is no quick fix or surgery and it can inadvertently affect your entire being. I have ER bills, clinics, etc. And I RARELY ever see a Dr., I can only imagine the medical debt of those who do see a Dr. regularly.

After 13 years of working 75-100 hours a week my body has said, "screw you". I am presently unemployed and working as much as I can from home and for my self. I am uninsured and have been for at least 6 years. I have primarily worked as a Chef and insurance is few and far between unless you work for a chain.
Moral of the story, am I signing up for Obamacare? Hell no.

I am Autistic, math is easy for me even though I despise it (must be an inborn female trait to hate math no matter the difficulty). I cannot see how this is good for our country. I see how it is good for people to get healthcare. We all need it, trust me I KNOW. I have a million problems that could be solved with a few Dr. visits but I cannot currently afford it. Dr.'s who work with Autistic adults are few and far between. Going with anyone else is pre-maturely donating your body to science, no thanks.

So, no, I am not enrolling for Obamacare and I'd suggest others do not as well. Our children will pay dearly for it or it will fail due to the fact that if enough young people do not enroll then it cannot pay for itself, do you think anyone else is going to loan the u.s. money?

I am not very political but this has been thrown around a lot, and I have been told it is a great choice and that it is a horrible choice. I will eventually get insurance my self and honestly, rates HAVE gone down considerably. It's a great time to enroll in insurance coverage via providers and you might find, like I did, that the prices are comparable to that of Obamacare. Shop around and see what you find.

As Americans we have lost patience with general things, including health care. We will like everyone should be cared for and healthy, and in a perfect world we would be. Canada has a health care system and you may wait months for even an x-ray. It's life, unfortunately we all get sick and bad things do happen. Sometimes we can correct those things, sometimes it is too late. Prevention is key. I'm sorry if this post offends anyone, it is not meant to. I just hope everyone enrolling understands the burden this could have on our country. It may just simply not be ready for it considering our economic status.

Free College and University Level Learning Online!

I have been utilizing online learning tools and getting a great feel for things I have an interest in. I need to shift my career from commercial cooking to something I can accomplish from home. So I am beefing up my knowledge base. But I wanted to share the links I have been using so that others could benefit from some relatively new resources out there for educating your self.

edX offers a very interactive online classroom setting with their own free online courseware that you can easily flow through course work without a problem. Very user friendly in my opinion and you can take part in the discussions and view your overall progress through the course.
They offer courses from Harvard, MIT, Princeton, etc. From Quantum Physics to Poetry courses.

iTunes U
There are a few ways to access iTunes U and most everything you are looking for can be used for FREE! I am currently subscribed to over 40 courses and podcasts. While the classes are a bit less interactive than that of edX it is still a great free online tool.
You can download iTunes U to your iPod, iPad, iPhone or you can view the iTunes U library of courses from your iTunes account on your PC, Mac or laptop. If you do not have iTunes software just visit their website, the software is free to use on Mac or PC.

Via Perception - Essay-book

There is so much to add to this little essay-book. I hope those who read it enjoy it. The proceeds benefit adults on the spectrum seeking employment.

Creatively I'm flowing but how am I functioning?

Last night was like a fight against my self. The kind you witness from a child fighting sleeping because they want nothing more than to stay awake and see what the big deal is. Not realizing the adults purely stay away to have a few extra moments without the kids because by that point in life sleep is not generally chore and for parents it is a vacation at times.

I found my self waking up kicking my legs, clenching my arms and violently swinging my body around on my side of the bed, or so I thought. I looked to my right and Emily made a nest for her self on the floor out of some couch cushions and blankets all curled up asleep. The dog somehow managed to not leave the bed yet and since it was light out I figured I could get up now.
I try very hard now to not get up and down at night as much. It's hard to lay there when your legs just want to move! But then I form a habit of staying awake any time I wake up at night. Sleep should be such a battle. I can count on one hand the number of times in the last couple years that I have fallen asleep and woke up when it is light outside. I typically am up by 3am no matter what time I fall asleep. I drug my self some more (melatonin, nyquil, tylenol PM, whatever works that week in combination) and then try to maintain until it is light outside.

I often fault Emily's presence, she is always around and always wants to be around me, which I love. But i get in the way of enjoying it at times. But it is nice to know she is there. Just sleeping away on her hurricane free nest she made on the floor. This girl deserves a medal of honor. She sleeps in combat nightly and never enlisted for such.
