I have been utilizing online learning tools and getting a great feel for things I have an interest in. I need to shift my career from commercial cooking to something I can accomplish from home. So I am beefing up my knowledge base. But I wanted to share the links I have been using so that others could benefit from some relatively new resources out there for educating your self.
edX offers a very interactive online classroom setting with their own free online courseware that you can easily flow through course work without a problem. Very user friendly in my opinion and you can take part in the discussions and view your overall progress through the course.
They offer courses from Harvard, MIT, Princeton, etc. From Quantum Physics to Poetry courses.
iTunes U
There are a few ways to access iTunes U and most everything you are looking for can be used for FREE! I am currently subscribed to over 40 courses and podcasts. While the classes are a bit less interactive than that of edX it is still a great free online tool.
You can download iTunes U to your iPod, iPad, iPhone or you can view the iTunes U library of courses from your iTunes account on your PC, Mac or laptop. If you do not have iTunes software just visit their website, the software is free to use on Mac or PC.
